Family Movie Night and Campout

Friday May 30th, 6pm ~ Saturday May 31st, 11am

 

This is a family friendly event intended to bring the Henry Ford community together before the summer break. Enjoy dinner, a movie, and a camping experience on the Henry Ford fields. 

To ensure sufficient food for all campers, advanced registration for camping and meal ticket purchases are required. Tickets can be purchased below, or at the HF Pasta Dinner and Open House. The ticket price includes the cost of food. The movie event and campout is open to all members of the HF community free of cost.

Movie Night and Camping FAQ

What's free?

A movie, popcorn and overnight camping.

 

What's included with a meal ticket purchase?

Dinner & breakfast (tickets required, purchased in advance on the PTA website, pasta dinner, or open house.

 

Can I drop my child off for the night?

This is a family movie and camping event. A parent or guardian must be present at all times. Students cannot be dropped off for the evening or any part of the event.

 

Do families have to stay overnight?

Nope! This is a flexible event. Families can choose to enjoy just the movie, dinner and movie, or stay the entire night for the full camping experience. A parent or guardian must be present at all times.

 

Where will families sleep?

Campers will sleep in tents with their families on the back lawn. Campers will need to bring everything needed to spend the night including tents, sleeping bags, etc.

 

What meals are provided?

Dinner and a simple breakfast will be served

 

How much does it cost?

Meal tickets are $15 and must be purchased in advance on the PTA website, Pasta Dinner, or Open House.  The cost of the meal ticket covers dinner and breakfast.

 

Can families come for just the movie?

Absolutely! The movie portion of the evening is free and open to all.

 

What movie will be showing?

We will select from the list of movies below. A voting booth will be set up at Pasta Dinner to get input from the HF community.

What time do things start and end?

  • Arrival and tent set-up (optional): Doors open at 6:00 PM
  • Dinner: 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM
  • Movie: 7:30 PM - Vote on your favorite movie at the Pasta Dinner. (Movie will be indoors in the MUB)
  • Night ends for those not staying overnight: ~ 9 -10 PM - Anyone not staying overnight must leave by 10PM
  • Wind-down time (for overnight campers): 9:00 PM - 10:00 PM
  • Lights out: 10:00 PM
  • Breakfast: 7:00 AM
  • Camp breakdown and goodbyes: Leave by 11:00 AM

 

What should I bring?

  • The movie will be indoors in the MUB. If you are attending the dinner and movie ONLY, you don't need to bring anything. You are welcome to bring blankets or camping chairs for the movie
  • Tent
  • Sleeping bags/pads
  • Flashlights/headlamps
  • Bug spray
  • Snacks (optional)
  • Lawn chairs (optional)
  • Pj’s!

 

Are there any restrictions on what I can bring?

Please leave open flames (like fireworks) and glass containers at home for safety reasons.

 

Will there be restrooms available?

Yes, restrooms will be accessible throughout the event.

 

What if it rains?

In the unlikely event of rain, we will limit the event to dinner and the movie (indoors @ the MUB).
